Services offered by CAFDA’s HIV/AIDS Project:
Awareness and Educational Programme
Awareness and educational programmes were provided to parents, youth, workers at various factories, and churches.
Support Group
A weekly Support Group for people infected or affected by HIV/Aids is held every Thursday morning throughout the year. Attendance figures range between 30 and 50 members. This support group provides an opportunity for members to share their experiences and to learn how others are living positive lives and cope with their HIV status.
CAFDA is grateful to the City of Cape Town for their continued sponsorship of this crucial programme.
Counselling
Intensive counseling and support on an individual and group basis is offered regularly to people infected and affected by the virus.
Referral System
Referral of people for assistance in respect of their need for accommodation, grants, legal matters, etc. occurs regularly.

Patient Advocate Team
ARK (Absolute Return for Kids) sponsored the Patient Advocates (PA) who provides direct support to those infected or affected with the virus at home on a regular basis. CAFDA appreciates the excellent partnership with ARK.
Fikelela Aids Project
Fikelela has provided CAFDA’s support group with 30 food parcels every month in order to address the nutritional needs of the infected persons.
