Unveiling of new vehicles

It is with great enthusiasm that we recently celebrated the "Unveiling Of The New Vehicles" at a ceremony, held at CAFDA's premises. The 3 vehicles were sponsored by our generous donors, Business Connexion and The National Lotteries Board who heeded our appeal for funding of the vehicles.

At the unveiling were the Chairperson of our Governing Board, Mr Kevin Southgate, Deputy Chairperson, Mr Mark Rossouw and Board member, Mr Daniel Cornelson.

Mr Sibusiso Nkabinde, Regional Executive of Business Connexion Western Province, was on hand to present the keys of the TATA bakkie to Mr Southgate.

In the absence of a National Lotteries Board representative, the keys to the two i10 vehicles were handed over to Mr Southgate by Hyundai's representative, Brandon.

It had become very challenging for CAFDA to continue to provide a sterling service to the communities when, through wear and tear, the vehicles had become unreliable and also, there were not enough vehicles to service the various areas of our work. We can now provide our social workers with reliable cars which will not break down in the course of their duties. It will also improve our infrastructure to more readily respond to children in vulnerable situations. The vehicles will be used to help provide safety to our clients when they visit our premises for intervention, for donations and for Social Welfare:

On the day of the unveiling, the vehicles were adorned with big bows and were parked between the Business Connexion and CAFDA banners. The Business Connexion logo was displayed and Lotto's logo is prominently displayed on the doors of the cars. We had the Community newspaper "New Age" in attendance and many photographs were taken for posterity!!

We graciously thank our sponsors for their interest in CAFDA and for their magnanimous gesture in providing reliable vehicles to assist the needy in our communities. These vehicles will be in use for a long time and we thank BUSINESS CONNEXION and LOTTO for the opportunity to partner with them on this project.
